چکیده

A distinctive isolate was discovered and visually recognized as a member of the genus Didymella during routine examination Coelomycetes isolated from diverse fruit juices. Based on sequencing internal transcribed spacer (ITS), fungus identified keratinophila since it showed 100% identity to type strain. The strain thrived produced keratinase collagenase enzymes by hydrolyzing native chicken feathers in submerged fermentation (SmF). After 10 days at 30 °C, pH 9 using sodium nitrate nitrogen supply highest activity 8780 ± 620 U/mL/min, while 6 beef extract maximum 11,230 1290 U/mL/min. partially-purified enzyme worked best 7.0 45 exhibiting specific 44,903 1555 U/mg protein. excellent 6.0 35 generating 15,753 110 enzyme-specific activity. Mn2+ K+ were most efficient inhibitors keratinases collagenase, respectively. Both EDTA metal ions significantly decreased collagenase. This report workable supplier derived feathers, offering reliable way exploit manage these wastes for obtaining high-value products.

Keratinase Production by Three Bacillus spp. Using Feather Meal and Whole Feather as Substrate in a Submerged Fermentation

Three Bacillus species (B. subtilis LFB-FIOCRUZ 1270, B. subtilis LFB-FIOCRUZ 1273, and B. licheniformis LFB-FIOCRUZ 1274), isolated from the poultry industry, were evaluated for keratinase production using feathers or feather meal as the sole carbon and nitrogen sources in a submerged fermentation. The three Bacillus spp. produced extracellular keratinases and peptidases after 7 days. Feather ...
